Dr. Tremblay reviewed clinical trial design for relapsing and progressive MS and discussed the demographic make-up of pivotal trials used to establish safety and efficacy of recently approved disease modifying therapies.

Dr. Gutman discussed what is known about the mechanisms, the challenges in clinical trial design, the new frontiers in research, and the treatment of progressive MS.

Dr. Pandey discussed how race and ethnicity effect disease course and the need for equitable representation in clinical trials.

Dr. Harel discussed what we know about how age effects the immune system and its relevance in including older individuals in progressive MS clinical trials.
